Add AC Repair and Service to Your Spring To-Do List

April 28, 2016

Spring is finally here. We’re awfully sure your to-do list already feels overly long, but we have a few things that might save you some problems and keep you comfy in the months to come. The weather is beginning to heating up in Heflin and the last thing you want is to uncover is that you’re facing an AC repair. Going through this quick checklist now could save you from sweating this summer.

  1. Inspect Your Air Filter and Ducts
Changing your air filter makes it to almost all of our lists of tips because it's so important and so often overlooked. If your air filter is filthy, your system will have to work harder to keep you cozy. This costs you more money and causes more work on the system which diminishes the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are another piece of the puzzle that is often neglected as well. While you're spring cleaning, take off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers removed, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and swap them after they've dried.
  2. Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units clear of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can impact your system and cause it to lower its efficiency.
  3. Schedule Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we come in to help you tackle that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up prolongs the life of your system and keeps it operating at top efficiency. Spring is the ideal time to schedule your tune-up so any issues or AC repair that needs to be made can be addressed before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a small investment into the life of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.

We can't help you with your entire spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to make sure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to set up your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 256-270-1196.
